Remodeling experiences can be stressful. This prevents unnecessary stress on you and your family and allows you to plan your schedule accordingly.

Don’t Just “Change” Your Home, Remodel It to Look & Function Better

9 Step Remodeling Experience

  1. Consultation – During the free in-home consultation, we discuss your project specifications and explain all the options you have to choose from.
  2. Estimate – After the initial in-home consultation, we provide you with a detailed estimate which explains the financial costs associated with your project, as well as the remaining processes in your remodeling process.
  3. Proposal – During the finalization process, you review the designs and decide the exact finishes that you want for your home remodeling project.
  4. Contract – The Contract outlines your renovation specifications and the JLB Remodeling Warranty. The Remodeling contract includes all the specifics like scope of work, time of completion, price and payments.
  5. Project Plan – The project plan is a customized detailed plan using builder trend application that identifies all the project team members, their assigned work details, and the dates the team members will be performing the work. This allows you to plan your schedule around the multiple phases of your remodeling project.
  6. Changing of Orders – Once the Contract is signed any changes must be in writing. The Change of Order form outlines any changes that are requested or required after the original contract has been executed. This prevents any misunderstandings between you and any team member and ensures you are kept abreast of any issues that may arise as the work is performed.
  7. Walk Through – On completion of the remodeling project, we schedule a walk through to ensure that all work was completed to your satisfaction.
  8. Final Invoice – Once the Walk Through is completed, we issue your final invoice.
  9. Customer Survey – We like to hear what our clients have to say. We request just a few moments of your time to learn what you liked or ways we can improve our services.

The 9 Step Remodeling Process ensures that you are informed — you know what work is to be done, when and by whom. Since all prices are listed in the contract, you know exactly what the costs are and can plan accordingly.

Green remodeling projects are designed to minimize negative impacts in natural resources and the community. By going green, you can make your home more energy efficient, provide a healthier indoor atmosphere and conserve natural resources.

While most homeowners may think green remodeling, projects are more expensive than traditional remodeling, that isn’t necessarily the case. Green remodeling can save you money during the remodeling project, as well as afterwards!  Our green remodeling options will make your home more energy efficient by reducing your home’s overall energy consumption, thus reducing your energy bills.  In return, it provides a healthier indoor air quality while reducing allergens and potentially saving you overall health costs.  You’ll even save money from potential waste and water costs can also be reduced saving even more money.

Plus, green remodeling doesn’t have to be complex. Simple changes in your home remodeling project can have big impacts.

  • Including more natural light in your home remodeling designs
  • Using recycled plastic for decking materials
  • Using recycled items instead of new
  • Adding additional insulation
  • Installing programmable thermostats
  • Replacing older appliances with more energy efficient appliances
  • Replacing carpeting with more environmentally friendly flooring (cork or bamboo)
  • Replacing your existing hot water heater with the newer tankless or hybrid water heaters
  • Performing Home Energy Audits to identify and stop air leaks throughout the home
  • Designing a landscape that utilizes more shade and conserves water
  • Replacing older windows or storm doors with ones that are more energy efficient

One of the most important aspects of green remodeling is ensuring the new high efficiency renovations work efficiently with the existing home structure and appliances. Therefore, it is so important to work with a green remodeling contractor that can anticipate any issues and take appropriate steps to avoid issues early rather than later.

Green remodeling ensures that your home is more energy efficient, more cost efficient, and provides a healthier environment for you and your family. Of course, by minimizing your home’s footprint, you are also ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.

JLB Remodeling & Custom Homes, Inc. works with homeowners to ensure environmentally friendly products are used, if possible, to improve the home’s resource efficiency, and increase both energy and water efficiency as outlined in the ICC 700 Green Building Standards, which are a part of the National Association of Home Builders Green program. Additionally, after the green remodeling work is completed, we work with homeowners to educate them about the operation and maintenance of their green home.
